California Musical Theatre announces the 2012-13 Broadway Sacramento season at Community Center Theater, featuring Tony Award-winning new Broadway musicals as well as heart-warming family favorites.

Memphis, which won four 2010 Tony Awards and is still playing on Broadway, kicks off the season, followed by Peter Pan, starring Cathy Rigby, Rock of Ages, Disney's Beauty and the Beast, and multi-Tony Award winner Billy Elliot the Musical. The final show of the season is a Broadway Mega-Hit that can't be revealed until August due to contractual obligations. That show is a brand new production of one of the most beloved and popular Broadway musicals ever, and has been highly praised by critics and audiences alike throughout its wildly successful tour.

Broadway Sacramento, presented by the nonprofit California Musical Theatre, is the largest performing arts event in the Capital Region. All performances are at the Community Center Theater, 1301 L Street, in downtown Sacramento.

Memphis
Oct. 30 – Nov. 4, 2012
From the underground dance clubs of 1950s Memphis,Tennessee, comes a Tony Award® winning new musical that bursts off the stage with explosive dancing, irresistible songs and a thrilling tale of fame and forbidden love. Peter Pan, starring Cathy Rigby
Dec. 26 – 30, 2012
Tony Award® nominee Cathy Rigby takes flight in an all new production. Discover the magic all over again of this two-time Emmy Award winning and two-time Tony Award nominated family-friendly attraction of spectacle and fantasy. Music by Mark Charlap and Jule Styne; lyrics by Carolyn Leigh, Betty Comden and Adolph Green; based on the story by James M. Barrie. Option to season.

Rock of Ages
Jan. 22 – 27, 2013
A hilarious, feel-good love story told through the hit songs of iconic rockers Journey, Styx, REO Speedwagon, Foreigner, Pat Benatar and others. An awesomely good time about dreaming big, playing loud and partying on! Nominated for 5 Tony Awards in 2009, including Best Musical. Book by Chris D'Arienzo; original arrangements by David Gibbs; music supervision, arrangements & orchestrations by Ethan Popp.

Disney's Beauty and the Beast

The most beautiful love story ever told is a Broadway musical for all generations. Disney's eye-popping spectacle is filled with unforgettable characters, lavish sets and costumes, and dazzling production numbers. Nominated for 9 Tony Awards and 10 Drama Desk Awards in 1994. Billy Elliot the Musical

Based on the international smash-hit film and featuring music by Elton John, this joyous celebration of one boy's journey to make his dreams come true earned unanimous critical acclaim on Broadway and won 10 Tony Awards including Best Musical. Book and lyrics by Lee Hall; music by Elton John.

Broadway Mega-Hit to be Revealed

This brand new production of one of the most beloved and popular Broadway musicals ever has been highly praised by critics and audiences alike on its wildly successful tour. California Musical Theatre is unable to announce the title until August due to contractual obligations. 2 week engagement.
