The 1960's was an exciting, innovative decade in the history of popular music. Through a creative blending of live music performance, film, dance, lighting, computer-generated imagery and high-concept stage design- THIS IS THE '60s, offers an evening's immersion into the pop culture of the 1960s. Utilizing everything from TV commercials, retro dance numbers, vintage fashions and historic newsreel footage, seven performers will faithfully recreate a wide range of music from the period. The company will perform for three shows in Stage One.

Executive Director Dave Pier noted that "this will be a fun evening, especially for those went through the '60s and '70s-it's a great family event and a good opportunity to bring the kids and share some of the sounds and sights of an important time in American history."

THIS IS THE '60s will perform in Three Stages on Monday, October 15, 2012-- 7:30 pm; Tuesday, October 16, 2012--7:30 pm; and Wednesday, October 17, 2012--7:30 pm. The unique show is the brainchild of producer/director Jim Duffy, an Emmy Award-winning television producer/writer/director who began his career as a CBS news cameraman and producer in 1972 and who has created programming for Discovery Networks and other national media outlets. "I combined the two elements I love most: music and storytelling," explains Duffy. "THIS IS THE '60s takes the audience on a journey-one that's designed to entertain, educate, and stimulate."

THIS IS THE '60s, features the music of The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, The Monkees, The Mamas & The Papas, The Fifth Dimension, Simon & Garfunkel, The Beach Boys, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Three Dog Night, Jefferson Airplane, and many more-35 songs in all. Performed live with no pre-recorded samples, the two hour-plus show features the skill and versatility of seven seasoned performers; interspersed with the music and dance are vintage film clips featuring major news events, pop culture fads, and vintage TV commercials.
