About BroadwayWorld

Wisdom Digital Media Publishing launched in 2001 and its flagship site, BroadwayWorld.com, in 2003. BroadwayWorld is the largest theatre site on the internet, covering Broadway, the West End and beyond to 100 US cities, 45 countries and in 12 languages worldwide. With over six million monthly visitors, BroadwayWorld delivers complete up-to-the-minute Broadway, off-Broadway, and regional theatre news, in-depth interviews, extraordinary photo coverage, entertaining video features, lively message boards, ticket discounts, reviews, and more.

As an industry leader in all things live entertainment, the site's coverage includes TV, film, streaming, movies, music, concerts, opera, dance, classical music and more with exclusive features for industry professionals and ticket-buyers.

In 2020, the site unveiled a major redesign, and launched numerous new businesses including the Theatre Shop, Online Education, BroadwayWorld Research, Industry Pro and more. During the Broadway shutdown, the site continued to light a path with several new features including Next on Stage, Living Room Concerts, broadcasting Stars in the House, Backstage Live with Richard Ridge, brainteasers & more reaching record site traffic, supporting charities and spotlighting artists and organizations.

In May of 2023, the site celebrated its 20th Anniversary with a massive redesign and a star-studded celebration at Sony Hall, benefitting our longtime friends and collaborators at Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS - hosted by Chita Rivera and Richard Ridge and featuring performances by Tony, Emmy and Grammy-winning stars of stage and screen. At the event, New York City's Mayor, Eric Adams officially proclaimed May 21, 2023 as BroadwayWorld Day.

Editorial Guidelines:

BroadwayWorld is your go-to source for all things Broadway, theater, and live entertainment around the world. We recognize that our readers find value in content they can trust, and we take pride in our high-quality reporting that is both accurate and free of bias. Originality is equally paramount, as we maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy against plagiarism.

We strive to be transparent about correcting any factual errors in our editorial content and aim to do so as quickly as possible. We encourage our readers to bring such errors to our attention by contacting us here.

We strive to keep our content tightly focused on matters that spark the interest of theater aficionados and new audiences alike. Whether it's breaking news in the theater industry, thoughtful analysis of groundbreaking performances, or spotlight features on the artisans behind the scenes, relevance is key to BroadwayWorld’s mission.

BroadwayWorld staff are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest in regards to their assignments and to approach reviews with impartiality, offering critique that aims to inform and uplift rather than disparage. Reviews must be fair, fostering a constructive dialogue about the art form.

At our core, we recognize that theater is a reflection of humanity in all its diversity. As such, our platform is committed to the principles of inclusion and representation, ensuring that our coverage embodies the breadth of global theater. We encourage our contributors to explore and amplify a wide spectrum of voices, stories, and perspectives, including those that have historically been underrepresented in the arts. By embedding these values into our editorial guidelines, we affirm our role not just as observers and chroniclers of the world of theater, but as participants in the ongoing endeavor to create a more inclusive and diverse artistic community.

BroadwayWorld maintains a strict separation between editorial content and advertising. Opinions expressed by writers are not influenced by our advertisers.

By embracing these guidelines, we have hopefully created a space that not only chronicles the latest in the world of theater but does so with the respect, admiration, and thoughtfulness that we believe art form deserves. Whether you’re here to read up on the latest Broadway news, catch up on the boards, or promote your local production, there’s something for every kind of theatre lover here at BroadwayWorld.
